California Child Care Initiative Project
About the California Child Care Initiative Project (CCIP):
CCIP is an infant toddler capacity building grant funded by the California Department of Education. The project is designed to enhance the quality of early childhood development learning and care received in family child care settings and to facilitate capacity-building within the family child care sector. Family child care providers are offered help with the licensing process, setting up a family child care business and technical assistance in making necessary changes to accommodate infants and toddlers, increase the license capacity and/or offer non-traditional hours. Receive up to 25 hours of free training and incentives to become a licensed family child care provider.
Requirements to be a participant in the California Child
Care Initiative Project are:
A newly licensed family child care provider after June 30,
2007 or before June 15, 2008
OR
Current licensees must
be willing to increase to a large license, add care for infants
and toddlers, or extend your hours of business to non-traditional
hours
Reside in San Diego County
Provide quality care to infant and toddlers
Complete a home visit by a CCIP staff person
Complete 25 hours of approved CCIP training
Upon completion of these requirements, participants will be
eligible to receive an incentive package, with choices from
new developmentally
appropriate toys or equipment for infants and toddlers, health
and safety resources (fire extinguishers, smoke alarms and
CPR/First Aid Classes), or a California Resource and Referral
Family Child
Care handbook.
