The newsletter, On The Capitol Doorstep (OTCD), is a monthly California report on public policy issues pertaining to young children. It is an independent publication supported primarily by subscriptions. Regular features include the latest political developments affecting young children, descriptions of legislation currently in progress and comprehensive status reports on all tracked bills. Subscription rate: $95 for businesses, agencies, school districts, and organizations; $70 for individuals. The Legislative Update on Child Development is a weekly bill monitoring service on child care legislation, published from April to October while the legislature is in session. Subscription rate: $125.00 per year; if a subscriber to OTCD $100.00 per year. The publisher, Pat Dorman, is renowned in the child care field for her work in keeping everyone abreast of the following issues as they work their way through the political system: child care and development, child abuse prevention, child health including mental health and nutrition and child welfare.
